An opportunity exists for a well-rounded experienced Head Chef with competence in desserts, chocolate work and breads, to support the Executive Chef in elevating the resort’s culinary experiences through fresh innovative menus incorporating local fare and presented with a new level of sophistication.
Key responsibilities:
- Culinary Innovation: Contribute to the creation of gastronomic delights that fuse local flavours with modern international cuisine.
- Recipe Documentation: Assist with documenting all recipes and procedures, to create a comprehensive culinary guide.
- Leadership, Training and Mentorship: Use innovative hands-on leadership, training and coaching techniques to assist the Executive Chef in developing the skills of the entire Kitchen team. Oversee the Pastry section.
- Sustainability Focus: Assist with implementing strong inventory control procedures and sustainability initiatives aligned with Green Globe requirements as well as environmental and social programmes.
- Food Safety: Assist with updating procedures and conducting training to ensure the highest levels of health, hygiene and safety practices.

What we seek:
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ similar experience in luxury resorts globally, with qualifications from a reputable culinary institution. Caribbean nationality and experience would be an asset.
- Excellent culinary technical skills and a passion for presenting dishes that delight the palate.
- Competence in pastries, chocolate tempering, artisan breads and specialty items for guests with dietary restrictions.
- Evidence of creative menu development and recipe documentation skills.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in team building and mentorship.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene best practices.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet the demands of a luxury family-run Caribbean resort.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google apps.
